Sevilla FC In Spanish La Liga 2020

Sevilla FC faces the 2020/21 season after qualifying for the Champions League and achieving its sixth Europe League title. With this triumph, Sevilla FC made history in this continental competition. The previous one was a dream season for Sevilla FC fans, and Sánchez Pizjuán is full of enthusiasm. The architect of this situation is coach Julen Lopetegui.

Arrivals And Departures Of Sevilla 2020/21

With some changes and believing that they can go even further, Lopetegui's project continues its course. On the left side, Sevilla FC lost Sergio Reguilón. He was on loan from Real Madrid to Sevilla FC last year, and now he plays for Tottenham. Likewise, a team leader like Ever Banega went to play in Saudi Arabia at the end of his contract. Besides, Sergio Rico was sold to PSG. Among the most outstanding incorporations is Ivan Rakitic, who returns to the club after six good seasons at FC Barcelona. Likewise, Sevilla FC executed the purchase option on Suso, originally a Milan player, for 20 million Euros. To replace Reguilón, they brought Argentine Marcos Acuña, who should offer good performance. Similarly, goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was acquired, who was on loan from Girona. Another important addition was Óscar Rodríguez from Real Madrid. He came in exchange for 16 million Euros.

How Lopetegui's Sevilla FC Plays

The most remarkable thing about Sevilla's previous season was his good defense. Its weakest point? The attack. They only scored 54 goals in 38 games. To fight for the title against Barça and Real Madrid, they must improve their attack. Last season, his best weapons for scoring were foraying down the wings and set pieces. Regarding defense, central-backs Diego Carlos and Koundé had an excellent performance. The right and left-backs will be Navas and Acuña, who will replace Reguilón. If we take the 2019/20 season as a reference, we can say that Lopetegui would play with a 4-3-3 scheme. Ahead of the defense, he will have a midfielder playing as a pivot and two others moving the ball. Besides, he will have a winger on each flank and a forward in the middle. Lopetegui used a few players last season. In his line ups there used to be few surprises. He deposited his confidence mostly on thirteen players only. In the tactical, Lopetegui stands out since he can change the matches' course with his decisions.

Sevilla's Objectives In The 2020/21 Season

The club expects to improve what was achieved last season. In other words, have a good campaign in the Champions League and assert their hegemony in the Europe League. They aspire to be above fourth place in the Spanish League and even be a hard opponent for Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, and Real Madrid. Likewise, winning the Copa del Rey is a feasible aim for this club.

Sevilla FC is a candidate for the La Liga 2020/21 title, even with the problem of lack of goals. If they cannot win it, they can be very close. Is this Sevilla's moment?
